Biological Science Technician (Plants)
You must possess the Basic Requirements identified below to be considered eligible for this position. Your application or resume must clearly show that you possess the appropriate experience requirements. GS-06:
One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level. Specialized experience is defined as:
Performing field work for projects related to vegetation management and botany including taking measurements, recording observations, seeding or planting, and fertilizer or pesticide treatment. Organizing collections of seed and vegetative materials, assisting with conducting surveys for sensitive plants in project areas that included on-the-ground reconnaissance and record examination. Recording and compiling vegetation and botanical data for use in analysis and reporting. GS-06 there is no substitution of education for experience for this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
